Who Dat gon' win da Super Bawl!

Congratulations to the New Orleans Saints for finishing one off the most memorable seasons ever. Not just NFL, but of every game I have ever watched. I've watched great ones: Miller's 8 points in 18 seconds against the Knicks, one game playoff last year to see the Twins win the title, Cuse's 6 OT game last year. I've seen some bad: Wychek's forward pass/Miracle, The Giants dismantling of Moss and Culpepper's mighty Viking squad in the NFC Championship, and Van de Velde nutting in the clutch. But nothing topped the excitement and shear magnitude that SB 44 brought. I mean I, like most, thought after 10-0 the game was looong over. Peyton and his line were firing at will. I don't think the Saints so much as sniffed Peyton in quarter 1. Then all of sudden the Saints coaches went all, uuuhhhh let me find just the right adjective. All Peyton on the Colts and figured out not only ways to pressure the QB, but stuff a sudden champion like run game, all the while turning up the heat on offense. They literally did what the Colts had done to the Jets two weeks ago. I wouldn't be surprised to learn the Saints watched that entire tape. Oh wait. They can, and did. Brees laid a crawfish-laced smack down on the Colts beleaguered D and started ringing up the board like a 65 year old at Keno. A splendidly pulled off onside kick and a deja-vu induced Porter pick later and the Saints were giving humans a legitimate reason to call out on Monday. Here's to the Saints. You deserve it. Peyton, Next year baby!

Kudos to the NFL committee that was responsible for committing what I call one of the worst crimes in the history of mankind. A robbery has taken place. This crime I speak of is that of Andre Reed not getting inducted into Canton. Now, it's bad enough that Carter and Tim Brown didn't get in, but to leave out the G.W.R.O.A.T.N.N.J.Rice! It's an abomination! It's a hypocrination! And a tyrnantion! The three Touchdown's that solidified the Frank Reich led greatest comeback of all time comeback? The rat tail? I mean come on. What does a guy have to do? Win a Super Bowl? Oh yeah.

Moving on, muchas gracias Nova for falling to Georgetown. This is a of course a prelude to my summarizing of how ODU can now beat Nova. Nova, your not as much toughness and almost as good scoring ability display showed why you belong outside of the top 5. Here's to my Pacers drafting Reynolds. Hey, he's like 27. You know he's NBA ready. J/S

  1. you forgot the best play ever, how about ronny turioff bloking kobe bryant. yeah yeah we all knew the saints would win, i just thought they would beat the jets. i called that months ago. it was the government making up for the katrina catastrophe....look for rodger godell's taxes and that FAT FEMA check. when you have recievers who are doing what they do now, there is a chance colston will get in with one ring, or even reggie wayne and not andre reed. and as much as i hate to say it TO may not get in since he didn't win either and he smashed reeds stats.

  2. The Super Bowl is finally over so now we can let go of the fact that everyone is so happy that the Katrina riddled Aints finally won something for their city. So staying with the route for teams out of pity theme, does this mean that everyone will be routing for the Haitian Olympic team to bring home the most medals in the Olympics? I'll wait while you try to justify that one in your head. So one Super Bowl run makes you an elite quarteback? Wow doesnt say much for being elite then. ( if you can't tell by now I think Drew Brees, Reggie Bush, and Darren Sharper are all at the top of the garbage list of atheletes in the league. Oh and by the way have yall seen how good Shaq and the Cavs are looking? Best Center of all time! Get'em boy!

  3. whats with the Drew Brees hate? If Brady and Manning were already on a squad, Brees would be my top choice. That leaves 29 less talented QB's than Brees. How about throwing close to 5k 3 years in a row, and 4500+ 4 years in a row. Manning NEVER did that, not to down him, he has only thrown < 4000 yds twice. His rookie year, and the year after his 49 td performance. But, at UT and early NFL days, Mannings chokes put Debbie in "Debbie Does Dallas" to shame. Haven't seen him try to force so much in a quarter in years. Will give him a pass on that INT for a quick pick six. Beleive it was Wayne, but the dude slipped bad, you can tell by the body language.
If anything, cuss that Colt's defesne. Is it just me or do they play some great games, or allow 27+, wit hno in between.
Sam, if someone wants to build structures below sea level, ignore warnings for DAYS that a monster storm is coming, they deserve to die, its called natural selection, or Darwin Theory. Having sub-par local government would have helped a little to.
And Chris, c'mon man! Sharpe deserevedto get in this year more than Reed, please admit that. Reed will get in, but it will take some time.
