Pro Bowl 50% off clearance

Man oh man. What a weekend in sports. Instant classics( C's-Lakeshow) and foreseen duds (Pro Bowl) made my cup runneth over, leading to a near-fatal bout of alcoholism from sports. Where oh where to begin. Since I'm feeling so high, how about down under.

Fed captured number 16 in unthrilling fashion. I think I've labored through the Mrs.' deconstruction of Project Runway in more interesting fashion(I'm being facetious mind you). Murray decided to play lame duck the first two rounds and after Fed had cut it to hour five cruise control, Murray made just enough unforced errors to finish himself off. He cried. Fed smirked. Next year buddy. Or more like next year that Federer is retired. Oh and Sarena won. Of course.

Oh what an abomination the Pro Bowl has become. I mean I tried my hardest to get behind the hype, but a combination of an unwillingness to care and Lady GaGa's hoola-hoops, I was just taken away. So somewhere in the third quarter maybe I flipped during a commercial and caught the number one reason why I KNEW I shouldn't have wasted my energy on this nonsense: David Gerard was in the game. REALLY!? No one else in the AFC was good enough. Oh yeah that's because Brady's hurt, Rivers is hurt, and Peyton is Championship bound. My vote was for Fitzpatrick. Oh, and did I see Vince Young? I guess he deserved it. Anyways a bunch of points were scored, no one cared, and UVA's own Matt Schaub got MVP. That in itself should tell you all you needed to know.

In NBA news:
I got the pleasure/pain of watching the C's-Lakeshow game this weekend. Man I'll tell you one thing and I swear I am not being biased. Rondo is an All-star. I mean this kid diced through the Lakers so nicely that psycho with the Slapchop couldn't have explained it. It got so bad that Mamba bitched D Fisher into guarding a wobbly Shuttlesworth* and he himself decided to check Rondo. Well needless to say Mamba hit the game winner as the Lakers continued the NBA's recent beat down of the C's.
*Here is my assessment of Jesus. He might not make it past the trade deadline. He's moving slow man. Really slow. And I love Jesus. And not only Jake's son, but I noticed a few things about both teams.
First the C's. Garnett is done. He's running around like Pat Ewing in his Sonic year. Either he's the greatest non-Oscar nominated actor ever or he's hurting. I mean I don't think I have seen that many "my bad" chest taps after being schooled since my cuz Adam getting diced up by me on the court. (He may not agree) Pierce is their force. And every three he shoots looks like he had to give birth just to get it to the rim, but they ALWAYS fall.
Now the Lakers. Gasol should have dominated more. I don't know, the passion just doesn't seem completely there. Bynum is once again garbage. The announcers kept talking about how developed he's become. All I see is a defensive liability that was getting bodied by Perkins angry tail all day. He gets a couple put backs and suddenly he's Kareem. Fish is done. I see him getting traded by the dealine too. And lastly, Artest was NOT the answer. The Lakers are not winning the tile not in spite of, but because of him. And that hurts, but I have seen him jack up too many ill-advised three pointers to see them make it.

I'll end this with more bickering. And guess who it's about. I'll give you one guess. Don't know. It's Monday. So who else could I be talking about, but those connected Blue Devils. Another loss. Another top ten position. And UK dropped to THIRD!!!! Don't you know this was just our first loss? Man they treat UK like they just spray painted a whore in Taiwan. Canes blazing.

  1. Other than one of the better Saturdays in College Basketball happened this Saturday. It didn't matter if a slow sports weekend happened in VA. We had a nice little storm to stay occupied.
Please, and I really am asking politely, please do not mention lady (what's her name?) again in your writings. With so many other cultural/what's happening now references, why stoop so low to discuss this transvestite? Thank you.
Darn it, why do the Blue Devils have 2 more losses than everyone else in the top 10? ESPN had a great article on how it isn't fun to root against Duke anymore. I wholly disagree, but it's a great read.
As far as who you can skool on the playground, once those sweatpants come on, there's no stopping them!!! Bringing them back baby!

  2. First off, no one has every given me buckets to set the record straight. Secondly I dont really think that the Lakers or the Celtics will matter come playoff time, because once again Shaq will help another star reach superstar status by helping Lebron( no i'll never call him king) James get his first ring. As far as the pro bowl goes it was as uneventful as I predict the superbowl to be and let's be real any pro bowl that features david garrad, Matt Schuab, Vince Young and the cowboys garbage secondary really needs to be revamped again Mr Goodell. Now dont forget to tune into the Micheal Vick project( Buffalos next starting qb) show on BET tonight.

  3. first off tennis sucks...and i know most peoples response is..."can you play it" NO, and i can't play curling, men's field hockey, or figure skate, but you know what....they SUCK. let's be honest is anyone really interrested in a sport where one person dominates, and the only reason a new person wins is when they are getting too old to compete in the their perticular sport. its like watching womens basketball when uconn plays, or this upcoming year of golf without tiger. NO ONE CARES! or how about heaveweight boxing with the klietchkos...i almost cared about track and field again, until i realized that its almost not humanly possible to run faster than usain bolt. eve n in his sonic year pat ewing was better than a young rik smits! paul pierce has always been the force and for some reason boston still does not know it. that man was stabbed multiple times, including the FACE..and is still and allstar. look for ray allen to end up in oklahoma city, and being what they need to get back into the playoff hunt. bynum will sltill get traded while people are all up his ass. the only issue is ....who will he be traded for. because they need a tough center....anyone seen one other than shaq in the last 8 years? bring back EWING please!!! If the bills get Vick i will have to place them as my #1 AFC team. i haven't done that since the days of K-Gunn. man oh man i remeber it like it was yesterday, sitting at the boys club routing for the bills with you and adam....chris goes running down the hall screaming about the big playoff win, and the music city miracle happens....wow
