In honor of my Bill Simmons book coming in the mail, tonight's all NBA baby!!!
So the Pistons got routed again last night. So AI wasn't your solution. And HE was the reason you guys fell off last year? And you had to move him in order to get more playing time for the three headed drama-queen known as Stuckey, "he's a beast" Will Bynum, and Rip? So after suffering loss number dirty dozen in a row, is Smokin Joe still the Billy Beane of the NBA? Yeah, didn't think so. And to sum it up, out of curiosity, how did Gordan and Villanueva do last night? A COMBINED 1-11 with four points. Well keep solace in knowing that they will beat the Wiz tonight. But that's not really a big deal because their "best" player thinks aiming guns at people is funny, so, who cares. Good luck D-town ripping the hearts out of a town that just suffered through: Hockeytown USA losing to the Kid, My Twins taking out Los Tigres in extra innings, literally, and the Lion cubs being ripped to shreds this season. I've been to Detroit. Cold and gray. Great gambling. Shitty sports teams.
Perfect Segue!!!!! So speaking of bum Pistons, shouldn't Grant Hill be done by now. Remember in 2000 when we all thought that ankle would never heal? Well it did, and he's still starting on the runningest(is this a word?) team in the league. (sorry Knicks, this team actually wins) And remember who was supposed to be the dream teammate? Yep, T-Mac. Where's he. The same place Vlad's gonna be in a season. Oblivion.
So back to A.I. real quick. They beat the Hornets last night with Mr. Bad News guarding CP3 hard all night. There was even an Elton Brand sighting. You know who I didn't see? Kwame Brown.
For some reason I love to talk trash about garbage players, so quickly, here's my list of garbage players in the NBA:
1. Tony Parker
2. The Spurs
3. Tony Parker
4. Agent Asshole in D.C.
5. Mr. 5000th Assist
Speaking of basura, Jonathan Bender played 16 "quality" minutes for the Knickerbockers last night. His line: 0-8 FG 0-6 3PtFG!!! 3-4 foul line. 3pts.
Hard to believe that they found someone worse than Jarod Jeffires. And Bender last played for the home team. Like 3 years ago!!? Who does this guy think he is, Jordan. Wait, was he gambling with Ant Walker.
Oh and. the. segue's. can't. stop. won't. stop......SPEAKING of Timberwolves I also happened to stumble upon their game last night. I don't know who started this ridiculous rumor that Love and Al Jefferson can't play well together. 21 Offensive rebounds later they gobbled everything in sight like a pregnant woman at Golden Corral. If I were brass I'd do whatever I had to in order to get these guys to stay in town.....together. Maybe the Wolves should have given Simmons that GM job.
Do I? Maybe? Just maybe? (inordinate gaseous sound) Ahhh Yes I knew I had one more segue in me. And speaking of PG's, garbage, AND the T-Wolves, I recently happened to catch a Euroleague game on NBATV. Guess what draft dodging PG was shown tearing down defenders like the Icebox after Sawa gets plucked in Little Giants? Ricky Rubio. And let me tell you, I'm a fan. I'm voting for Love, Jefferson, Rubio 2012.
Can I do a Dunn family first and switch NBA teams. I'm already a Twins fan right? J/S
First of all... nice Little Giants reference. When will an NFL team try the Annexation of Puerto Rico? Second, I am currently plowing through Simmons book and it is awesome. Third, you aren't the only Pacers fan looking to jump ship. This team is pitiful and has no likeable guys not named Granger. I'm supposed to root for Hansborough and Dunleavy? As a Hokie, I absolutely hated those guys. Why don't they go ahead and draft Paulus while they're at it? You watched OKC at all this year? Very fun team to watch, all young guys and all of them play well together. Durant, Westbrook, Green, and Harden are all beasts. I can't help but root for them.
ReplyDeletegotta love those detroit casinos...gotta hate those scary alleys outside the casinos...bad sports, and you will get robbed! maybe bringing ben "no knees left" wallace back was the answer! or maybe the piston players got tired of hearing that they were "expendable" after every season. who wants to play for a team that may trade you after EVERY GAME! of course grant hill is still gunning, he played for duke...not kentucky! tmac...no comment even though he has put up great stats...is he a bust since he wasn't the second coming of jordan we all wished he would have been....if he was going to this all the while he should have just stayed in vince's shadow...speaking of vince isn''t he hurt AGAIN too..what is with that family.. its like when they were little kids the devised a plan for the two cousins to take over the nba, get all kids in the world to love them, then just f*%#@ing sh%t on us.....i'm glad i got that out. the kwame that counts wore polka dots! the timberwolves are good for throwing money around..only problem is they will pay those two then everyone else will have 2 year league minimum contracts..like the KG Starbury days. Ricky rubio won't have to come here for another two seasons. all the new young talent is going to do there "one and done(s)" in the euroleage anyway(even tyler smith can carry his guns over there); ofcourse this will lead to college basketball having an EPIC FAIL(96-team tournament) to try to keep kids interrested..no switching teams who are you Joe Lieberman?
ReplyDeleteP how great is his writing. Can you tell I'm at all influenced. (slight facetiousness) And I agree with you. When there is literally one person to root for it's tough to say this is their year, season, anything. If we don't make a move this offseason I'm done. OKC sounds great to me. I touched on them a few blogs back. Extremely enticing.
ReplyDeleteSam-EXCELLENT Kwame reference. Ownlee Uwe Sam, Ownlee Uwe.
